A ‘boring’ start to Youth Day
Youth Day brings exciting, drilling Water Works Project to Saxonwold Primary School.
Saxonwold Primary School had an incredible start to their Youth Day celebrations.
Head of innovation at the school Frankie Cilliers said their Water Works Project had finally started with stage one where they had begun breaking ground and started digging a borehole.
The following day, on June 17, the school reported that they had found water. “We are very pleased to report that during the second part of our stage one Water Works Project and after digging over 60m deep, we found water underground. These are exciting times for our school.”

Cilliers added they could not wait for the project to be completed to ensure that both the primary school and The Wold Preschool remain unaffected by the constant water outages in the area.
“This is a major project. We have managed to fund a great portion of the project through our fundraising initiatives, however, donations, no matter how big or small, are still welcome to ensure that we accelerate the project. We encourage more parents and companies to become part of the project. Thank you to those of you who have supported our fundraisers and this that have donated towards the project.”

As a registered public benefit organisation, all donations to the school are tax deductible. Readers may visit the Saxonwold Primary School Facebook page for banking details.
“We look forward to the completion of this exciting project and the many benefits it will bring to our school community.”
