Unhappy local residents voice opinions about Eskom’s power woes

Rosebank residents react to Eskom's announcement about load-shedding Stage 6.

TUTUZA GIJINA: Stage 6 load-shedding is extreme because it means we don't have electricity for longer hours. It also affects us negatively because we don't have the network to use our electronic devices.

This week the country plunged into further darkness after Eskom announced the country would be moving to Stage 6 load-shedding.
According to Eskom, this was due to unlawful and unprotected labour action which had caused widespread disruption to Eskom’s power plants.

The Rosebank Killarney Gazette spoke to residents about the deteriorating electricity supply in the country.
This is what they had to say…

TEBEGO MADIKGETLA: Load-shedding affects people’s lives and jobs. We wouldn’t be here had Eskom not been in the situation it is in now in terms of corruption.
CARRINGTON NCUBE: Stage 6 load-shedding is ridiculous because it’s long hours. When I got home there was no electricity but luckily I have a gas stove to cook.
MDUDUZI MHLANGA: Load-shedding affects me because my food and groceries go off quickly and I don’t even have alternatives like gas to cook.
