A learning experience for Saxonwold Primary learners

Law enforcement departments illustrate informative displays to Saxonwold Primary School learners.

The Saxonwold Primary School welcomed a team of law enforcements officials for a demonstration at the school. The demonstration event took place on July 29.

Rosebank Police Station’s Constable Marcelle Paredes was MC at the event and said it was for safety and awareness.

“It was to make the learners aware of what happens and how to go about reporting situations when they do have problems at home, school or elsewhere. They need to know who they can report to and what everyone’s role is within the community.”

Warrant Officer Bongi Mdletshe from the Rosebank Police Station added that the aim was to go back to basics since Covid-19 restrictions had been lifted. “We want to make sure the schools within the Rosebank policing precinct are well informed on safety.”

Several departments, including the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department K9 Unit, Community Active Protection, Emergency Medical Response, forensic services and more, shared information on how they can be contacted for services. The department representatives also shared the roles they play and the processes involved in dealing with safety.
