A 39-year-old man was arrested after the police found him in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
Bramley Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi said officers who were on duty patrolling Bramley policing precinct when they were approached by a community member who informed them of a suspicious vehicle.
“The members followed the information and went to the given address where they found a grey BMW vehicle with one occupant,” he added.
“K-9 Unit members questioned the man who is now the suspect, but it is alleged that he could not give them satisfactory answers. That alone raised suspicion and prompted members to dig deeper until they found out that the vehicle was reported stolen and it is sought by Sandringham police.”
Mogodi said the suspect would be profiled to find out whether he was on their wanted list and would appear in court soon while the investigation continued.
He shared the following safety tips for the community:
Keep your vehicle locked at all times, even while driving
When parked, never leave your keys in the car
Do not leave a spare key in your vehicle
Do not display any belongings
Never leave your car running and unattended
Report to the police any suspicious moves
Do not stop or park anywhere even if you want to take a call or wait for someone.
