DP World Lions cricket welcomed new coaches
DP World Wanderers Stadium changed its name and welcomed its new sponsor last year October.
DP World Lions cricket commemorated International Women’s Day two days early by welcoming their new cricket coaches in a capping ceremony on March 6.

Speaking at Wanderers Stadium, Esha Mansingh of Lions cricket sponsors DP World said she was proud of the 20 women who were trained and certified as coaches by DP World Lions and would be offering their coaching skills to schools.
“We always talk about the power of partnerships and today we live it and what we see through the 20 women who will be capped as coaches is exactly what we mean by the power of partnerships. This family has grown immensely over the years through a shared purpose.”
Mansingh added that when the partnership between DP World and Lions began a few years ago, it was not only about the cricketers who were produced on the field but about the people who were uplifted in communities.

Newly capped coach Tshegofatso Rapoo said, “I am excited about this new role and what it will help me achieve.”
Captain of the South African Test and ODI cricket team, Temba Bavuma who was in attendance, commended DP World Lions cricket for recognising the young women’s talents.
“The initiative by DP World Lions is a beautiful one because it is giving back while empowering young women. Of late, we saw the efforts put in by the Proteas women’s team and how well they did during the world cup which has inspired the mens team. Im sure the young women who will be capped as coaches will also inspire many others in the long run.”
