Norwood Police Station officers nab a mandrax suspect

The Norwood Police station urges the public to report criminal activities on: 08600 10111 or 011 483 4609/14.

Norwood Police Station’s commander, Colonel Logan Govender commended the crime prevention members Sergeant Samuel Khang, Sergeant Vusimuzi Bangani and Sergeant Khazamula Nyalungu for nabbing a suspect who was found in possession of mandrax on December 12.

Norwood’s spokesperson Eric Masotsha said on December 8, the crime prevention team conducted a stop and search along Louis Botha Avenue in Highlands North.

“The crime prevention team spotted a suspicious group of people, they approached them and identified themselves as police officers and asked to search them and permission was given. During the search, police found one person in possession of five tablets of mandrax.”

Masotsha added that when the suspect was asked where he obtained the drugs– he said he worked for a boss who was out of the country. He added that the suspect was arrested for possession of drugs.
