Fitness gurus and locals show up in droves for the Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial Race
Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial Race had three races: 5km, 10km, and 21km, which ended at the Johannesburg Zoo.
Runners and walkers from different sports clubs showed off their fitness skills at the Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial Race on July 14.
The Memorial race is one of the most anticipated races on the calendar. Athletes, young and old, professional or amateur, always show up, excited to run one of Joburg’s toughest races.
The race consists of three different distances: 5km, 10km, and 21km. The 5km starts at Zoo Lake Sports Club, while the other two distances start on Jan Smuts Avenue, with all three ending at the Johannesburg Zoo.
The organisers honour Gerald Fox, a popular member of their club and a dear personal friend, who was a victim of violent crime. This event has consistently maintained a high standard of organisation, regardless of route or venue.
The 5km fun run was in association with Parktown High School for Girls.
