Blaqfitness hosts wellness boot camp for Mrs South Africa contestants
A unique bootcamp brought Mrs South Africa contestants together for a day of movement, motivation, and mental reset.
Saxonwold’s very own Blaqfitness Studio played host to a group of Mrs South Africa semi-finalists on June 21, offering them a boot camp designed to support both their physical and mental preparation ahead of the showcase on July 4.
The idea came about when one of the semi-finalists, who also trains at the studio, suggested a group session to help contestants manage the pressures of the competition. The Blaqfitness team quickly got on board.

“This was more than just a workout,” said Winford Masinga, a fitness professional, master trainer, and life coach at Blaqfitness. “We wanted to help the ladies reconnect with themselves and each other, and to remind them what they’re capable of, beyond the competition.”
The studio’s holistic approach to wellness made it an ideal space for the event. “Wellness isn’t just about physical strength,” said Masinga. “It includes mental focus and emotional stability. That’s what we focused on.”
The boot camp was filled with energy, encouragement, and support. According to the organisers, the women responded with enthusiasm and gratitude.

“They told us it was exactly what they needed,” said Masinga. “There was a lot of joy in the room. They weren’t just competitors that day; they were a team.”
Masinga added that the standout moment was the bond shared among the participants. “Seeing the women cheer each other on, laugh together, and form connections, that’s what made it meaningful.”
Looking ahead, Blaqfitness hopes to take this type of session to other provinces and to continue working with Mrs South Africa.

“We’re also planning to bring our programmes into the corporate world,” Masinga said. “Our focus is on helping people manage their health and stress in a way that fits their lifestyle.”
The studio’s message is simple, but powerful: Wellness is not a destination; it’s a lifestyle.
