The celebration, on August 1, began with a beautiful Mass at St Martin de Porres Church, where learners and grandparents gave thanks for the love, guidance, and wisdom that grandparents bring to their families. The Mass, led by Father Bruce Botha, reflected on the unique role grandparents play in passing down values, traditions, and faith to younger generations.

Following the service, guests were warmly welcomed into their grandchildrens’ classrooms, where they took part in fun and meaningful activities together. These moments offered a glimpse into the Rosies’ daily school lives, while creating cherished memories through shared laughter, learning, and conversation.

The morning concluded with a picnic on the school grounds, where families shared lunchboxes and enjoyed tea and coffee under the late winter sunshine. This relaxed setting provided further opportunities for connection and celebration between grandparents and their grandchildren.

“Grandparents hold a treasured place in both our families and our school community,” said Lianda May, St Teresa’s admissions and marketing. “Their presence, love, and wisdom enrich the lives of our Rosies in immeasurable ways,”
May concluded that the warmth, laughter, and love shared during the day served as a reminder that St Teresa’s is not only a school; it’s a family, one where each member, from the youngest to the eldest, is honoured and celebrated.
