Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking musical, adapted from T.S. January 31
Pink Day is the day the Proteas men’s cricket team dress in pink and play a One-Day International in support of breast cancer awareness. It’s a day where Cricket SA raises awareness and funds for the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital Breast Care Clinic, who work tirelessly every day to beat the devastating disease.

February 22
An enjoyable night awaits at the Linder Auditorium with a live performance by Mozart’s Requiem with the Symphony Choir of Johannesburg and the Phoenix Co Orchestra conducted by Sue Cock. Singing will be: soprano Sinesipho Mnyango, alto Asisipho Petu, tenor Thomas Erlank, and bass Bongani Khubeka.

March 26–29
Hosted on the apron of the Constitutional Court and within venues like the Old Fort and Women’s Jail, the Human Rights Festival brings together community-based organisations, social movements, and international NGOs. Over four days, the event is dedicated to showcasing, connecting, and amplifying the work of hundreds of NGOs, inspiring the next generation of young activists and igniting dialogue around crucial human rights issues.

August 28–30
The Festival of Motoring has grown to be the largest industry-supported auto show in South Africa, and on the continent. Local elections
Although there is no definite date set, the 2026 South African municipal elections are predicted to be held in November, in order to elect councils for all district, metropolitan, and local municipalities in each of the country’s nine provinces. The Independent Electoral Commission South Africa, will ensure free and fair elections, maintain the voters’ roll, and promote democracy by ensuring citizens can make informed choices and act as a permanent, impartial institution accountable to parliament, but independent of government.

Johannesburg Pride
With a rich history spanning 35 years, Johannesburg Pride stands as one of the oldest and largest pride events in Africa. Organised by the visionary Kaye Ally, Johannesburg Pride has become a beacon of resilience and celebration, advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. This annual event brings together thousands of individuals to march in solidarity, celebrate diversity, and honour the progress made towards equality.
