Highlands Park U14 match ended in a victory
Passion and drive were evident in Highlands Park's cup games.
Passion, drive and eagerness dominated Highlands Park’s field on June 1 during the cup matches.

Highlands Park U14 head coach Zaeem Mayet said although it was a tough game against Kitoko Soccer School, the team played well.
“Both teams were strong and aggressive, and there was a lot of passion for the game. We passed the ball around well and went into the second half, where we played better and dominated the field. In the last minute, our right back scored a free kick which made the score 1-0.”
Kitoko coach Willard Katsande said defeat was not fun, but it was part of the process and game.
“We are a new team competing with an established team, and that gives us a good benchmark of where we are. Defeat always hurts, but if you are to look at the learning curve, we are still new and 18 months into our school and are competing against the best team.”

Katsande added the most important thing was to develop the players in the right direction.
U9 cup match
Meanwhile, Rovers Football Club U9s defeated Highlands Park 1-0.
Rovers coach Thembinkosi Msimango said he was proud of how the boys played and approached the game.
“The game was good, the boys played well and the opponent gave us a good game.”
Highlands Parks U9 coach Russell Wainbergas noted that it was a tough game, but remained proud of the players efforts.
“It’s always hard when we have two different divisions playing each other, I think the Highlands Park boys played well and fought hard in the first half. In the second half, the game got away once the other team scored a goal, nerves kicked in for the Highlands team, but I’m proud of the great effort put in the game by the boys.”
