St Teresa’s Rosies lend a hand ahead of Mandela Day

St Teresa’s Junior Primary learners are celebrating Mandela Day early by collecting and sorting donations for vulnerable children supported by Kids Haven.

In the true spirit of Mandela Day, the little hearts of St Teresa’s Junior Primary School are making a big impact.

With sleeves rolled up and hearts wide open, the Rosies have been collecting second-hand clothes, shoes, and essentials for the Kids Haven Pack-a-Sack campaign, an initiative that supports 145 vulnerable children and extends care into struggling communities.

Throughout the week, learners have been arriving with bags of donations, eager to help children just like them. “It’s been so special to see their generosity and empathy,” said a teacher.

This Friday (July 18), the school will celebrate Mandela Day by sorting all the donations for delivery, making sure every item finds the right home. It’s more than just giving; it’s learning the joy of service.
