Corlett Drive leak repaired and backfilled, but still a mess as we wait for reinstatement

The Corlett Drive excavation may be repaired, and backfilled, but it’s still causing traffic headaches, as we wait for the full reinstatement.

A reporter visited the site, on October 21, and found that, even though the leak has been repaired, and the site is heavily barricaded and backfilled, it is still quite a mess, affecting the flow of traffic on a main route for motorists, as cars are forced to slow down and switch lanes to avoid the excavation.

The publication will reach out to Johannesburg Roads Agency, in order to find out when reinstatements will be complete. The article will be updated accordingly when we receive a response.
