Chosen by his teammates rather than appointed by coaches, the young leader embraced his role with maturity and commitment. “The team picked me,” he said. “I just wanted to make sure everyone worked together and that things ran smoothly.”

His most memorable moment came during the quarter-finals, where Parktown Boys produced a commanding 4–0 win. “That game was special,” he recalled. “We supported each other from start to finish, and the teamwork made the game feel easy.”
The captain’s love for football began at the age of four, inspired by his older brother. Today, he represents Joburg City FC and continues to grow as both a player and a leader. Off the pitch, he stays fit by playing basketball and follows Manchester United and Orlando Pirates, admiring Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk for his calm and confident leadership.

For Sanele, football is more than a sport, it’s a classroom for life lessons. “I’ve learned not to underestimate anyone,” he said. “Even if you play at a higher level, someone else can still surprise you.”

As he looks ahead to new challenges, his leadership, discipline, and love for the game continue to inspire both his teammates and coaches.
