Community members are urged to report potholes to JRA before escalation

The turnaround time for JRA to respond to pothole inquiries is 30 days.

The growing number of potholes in the community is not only a pain but a major concern, especially for motorists who can incur severe costs and tyre damage.

Community members are urged to report the potholes to the Johannesburg Roads Agency by:

  • Email: hotline@jra.org.za
  • Calling: 0860 562 874
  • Using the @MyJra X (Twitter) handle.

Accurate location (street name, intersection) and photos are highly recommended when reporting the pothole/s.

Active reporting is crucial to fix road defects, which can be further supported by reporting through the Pothole Patrol application, which can be downloaded on Play Store or the App Store.

Community members are urged to request for a reference number for tracking purposes and if the JRA does not respond within 30 days, report the reference number to your local ward councillor for escalation.
