CAP Security admits error after Glensan run-over incident

Warning (sensitive footage): A video of a woman being run over by CAP Security has caused an outcry for answers on social media. The company has apologised for the incident that happened in Glensan.

A shocking video circulating on social media shows a woman being run over by a security vehicle in Glensan on March 16, sparking outrage and concern among residents. Community Active Protection (CAP) Security has since apologised for the incident, confirming it was caused by human error and that the driver has been dismissed.

The company said its primary concern is for the well-being of the woman involved and extended a sincere apology to her and her family.

Senior CAP executives contacted the family on the day of the incident and have held several follow-up conversations. The company said it is committed to supporting them.

CAP launched an internal investigation immediately. The probe found the incident resulted from human error and was not intentional.

The staff member responsible has been dismissed. The company stated it is reviewing all operational protocols and driver conduct policies to prevent a recurrence.

CAP said it deeply regrets the incident and remains committed to crime prevention and protecting communities in Johannesburg.
