Organiser Venita Masisi says the day’s biggest success was creating space for young boys to grow and learn, while participating in lively soccer matches.

Being involved in an activity provides young boys with discipline and guidance at a time where violence, abuse, bullying, and peer pressure have become popular. Through such initiatives, boys are taught about respecting themselves and others, they about learn teamwork and start making responsible decisions regarding their lives both on and off the field.

Masisi also emphasised the importance of supporting the boy child, as she feels that boy children tend to be ignored. She added that sport can help develop future leaders, while providing a safe environment where young people can engage with each other.
