Attendees brave rain for Pilates in the Park at Verity Park

Wet and chilly weather did not prevent attendees from turning out for a morning Pilates session in Parkhurst.

Rain and cold weather did little to deter attendees who gathered at Verity Park this morning for the Pilates in the Park fitness event.

Wrapped in jackets and carrying mats, attendees arrived ready to trade a slow morning indoors for movement in the fresh autumn air. Grey skies hovered above the park, but the mood remained warm and welcoming.

The session was led by Nicky Deenik, who guided attendees through a flowing series of stretches, balance work and core strengthening exercises. As light rain fell around them, participants stayed focused and embraced the challenge of exercising outdoors.

Hosted to promote wellness and healthy living, the event encouraged attendees to make use of one of Parkhurst’s popular green spaces while starting the weekend on an active note.

Although the weather was far from ideal, those who attended enjoyed the experience, with the mix of movement, fresh air and calm surroundings creating an uplifting start to the day.

By the end of the session, mats were rolled up, spirits were lifted and attendees left having turned a grey morning into an energising one.
