Local resident breaking through entertainment industry
PARKHURST – MULTI-TALENTED local resident Suzzi Swanepoel, is taking the entertainment industry by storm.
Swanepoel, from Craighall, was one of the lead actors in the Kyk-NET hit drama series, Sterlopers, as Isabel Richter. Every Tuesday, viewers were glued to their screens to witness the coming together of glittering highways and the shadow alleys of the local entertainment industry.
Playing the innocent lead, Swanepoel was surrounded by a cast which included Jenna Dunster, Nadia Beukes, Izak Davel and Marlee van der Werwe. The series depicted themes of disillusionment, betrayal, passion and scandal through various journeys filled with ambition.
In 2009 Swanepoel reached the final 12 when she was part of the band Suzzi and the Swanz, on Idols. The bubbly 29-year-old hails from Potchefstroom and has performed in numerous theatre productions including Hair; Spotlight and Party Police; and Jock of Bushveld.
She stars in the film, Mooirivier which will be released in February next year, and she is also part of Kyk-Net Silwer Skerm Fees, in the short film Liefdeslobotomie.
The energetic and multi-talented entertainer recently released a single titled Ek Probeer.
