Watch Anne’s diary come to life
The Market Theatre and Windybrow Theatre is hosting the Spitfire Company production of The Voice of Anne Frank.
The play featured on countless stages abroad, and now it’s Jozi’s turn to experience this unique show until 29 August 2014 .
Critics and audiences have been mesmerised by Mirenka Cechová’s stunning portrayal of Anne Frank, underpinned by an innovative combination of dance, live music and narration.
The performance is a monodrama with live accompaniment by cellist Nancy Jo Snider, who represents Kitty, the invented addressee of Anne’s letters.
Cechová has received several prestigious awards for her portrayal of the title role, including the Best of Fringe Award at the Amsterdam Fringe and the Outstanding Performance Award at the Prague Fringe. The play was also named the top overseas production at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.
