Sansui Summer Cup launches in Braamfontein
BRAAMFONTEIN - Johannesburg’s premier equestrian and fashion affair, the Sansui Summer Cup, proudly hosted by Gauteng, promises to be classier than ever.
The launch of the horse race was held at a swanky event in Braamfontein on 30 September where TV personality Dineo Moeketsi was introduced as the face of this year’s cup.
The premier fashion and horse racing event will be held at the Turffontein Racecourse on 29 November with the theme, Hats Off.
Michael Varney of Phumelela Gaming and Leisure said this year’s Sansui Summer Cup 2014 campaign was aimed at embracing Johannesburg and Gauteng.
“The Sansui Summer Cup epitomises the quality and proud heritage of thoroughbred horse racing in Johannesburg and the event has become a defining event on the national racing calendar,” he said.
Also speaking at the launch, Barba Kgaogane of Gauteng Tourism said Gauteng was proud to be associated with the summer cup.
“Gauteng doe not have an ocean or mountains like other provinces, so what we aim to do is to use events such as this one to showcase Gauteng and the urban city lifestyle the province provides,” he said.
