An evening with Edwin Cameron
NORWOOD - The Lamp Post invites you to enjoy an evening of art, music and insight into South Africa's justice system.
Monthly Art Jam sessions at the Lamp Post invite creative souls to gather for the complete sensory experience of listening to smooth music, eating a delicious meal, and exercising their creative side with some drawing.
This month, however, The Lamp Post will host an Art Jam with a difference on 20 November.
Guest speaker Edwin Cameron will present his new book Justice – A Personal Account in which he draws on his own life experiences to explain and defend the role of the law in South Africa’s continuing transition. Cameron draws on his experiences of poverty, of a youth spent in a children’s home, of his own differences and of stigma, to illustrate both the power and the limitations of the law.
Guests will be treated not only to Cameron’s presentation of this extraordinary book, but to a delicious meal cooked by Kiyasha and a live performance by local band, Jazz on Blue.
