What’s on at Joburg Theatre this January
BRAAMFONTEIN - The Johannesburg Theatre will be open once again to the public from 17 January.
The venue will host a few performances back by popular demand this January.

17 January
Black Diamond
The Art of Motion team, The Best Of…, in collaboration with Dancers love Dogs have a weekend of entertainment planned to kick start your 2015.
After a full house standing ovation, Black Diamond is back by popular demand for one performance only.
The performance will feature no less than three internationally acclaimed dancers.
Art of Motion graduate Kirsten Johnson, on scholarship with Texas Ballet Theatre Professional Division, will perform Angelique Harris’s 2014 internationally award winning choreography Absolute Pitch.
Leroy Mokgatle, Irish World Championship qualifier 2016, will perform in the choreography Get Real.
18 January
White Noise
White Noise is back by popular demand for one performance only.
Art of Motion graduate and guest artist Kathleen Videira, currently with Tivoli Ballet Theatre Copenhagen Denmark, will perform Angelique Harris’s 2014 internationally award winning choreography White Noise.
Tyla-Amber Spieth, the 2014 Kiely Walsh dance off winner and 2015 Irish World Championship qualifier, will perform in the choreography Celtic Sounds.
Kaleidoscope
The performance, Kaleidoscope will feature no less than three internationally acclaimed dancers with Leroy Mokgatle performing Angelique Harris’s 2014 internationally award winning choreography, Freedom the Tribute. Mokgatle is the 2014 South African International ballet competition and youth American grand prix New York finals medallist, and recipient of a special prize at the 2014 Seoul international dance competition.
22 to 31 January
After debuting with a sold-out six-week run in Joburg last year, The Greatest Love of All – The Whitney Houston Show starring Belinda Davids will return to the Joburg Theatre in January 2015.
The concert fun, touching and uplifting.
Accompanied by a live band and dancers, Davids pays tribute to one of the world’s most revered singers by performing more than two hours of Houston’s pop hits.
And there is no person better equipped to do so. In addition to having a voice described as ‘jaw-droppingly similar’ to the pop diva, Davids openly acknowledges that Houston is her personal idol and was the original inspiration for her own career when she began singing at the age of 14.
