Join NSA’s Festival of Fame
JOHANNESBURG – The National School of Arts will host its 14th annual Festival of Fame, Joburg's very own youth arts celebration, from 11 to 15 March.
The National School of Arts in the heart of Braamfontein will host the annual event where the arts of the youth will be showcased in a number of exhibitions and productions for art lovers of all ages.
This festival draws crowds of up to 5 000 from as far as Zimbabwe and Cape Town.
For pupils, the Festival of Fame adds a vibrant and memorable dimension to the high school Creative Arts curriculum.
The musical production FAME, one of the headline events of the festival, is directed by Janna Ramos-Violante, with executive producer Mark Hawkins and musical director Marten Van Wyk of the National School of the Arts, choreographed by Charlie Van Rooyen, designed by Wilhelm Disbergen and lighting design by Nic Michaletos. This event is an exciting festival that attracts loads of people because of the platform which allows the youth to showcase their talents in the arts, and also for the inexpensive tickets which allow the public to be part of such a spectacular movement.
The Festival of Fame also gives arts lovers the opportunity to peek into the future of arts in South Africa, by viewing the top-class productions that are put on at the festival.
