The battle of the paintings continues
JOBURG – Another artwork of naked politicians has surfaced in Kenny Kunene's home.
The battle of the nudies is not yet over.
Businessman Kenny Kunene, recently posted a pic of himself with another art work depicting nude politicians; this time members of the DA.
Mmusi Maimane has been portrayed as a slave to Western Cape Premier Helen Zille and James Selfe, chairperson of the DA’s federal council, in an art work by Iven Amali which aims to convey the message that Maimane is nothing more than a political puppet being controlled from the background.
It has been reported that Kunene bought the art after it was refused to be put on display at a gallery which had previously shown interest in obtaining a piece by the artist.
Kunene has also reported to Times Live that he has mounted the artwork in his bedroom so that he can look at it every morning when he wakes.
He has maintained, throughout the social media frenzy, that he is not a politician and is not an ANC member, but an art lover.
He added that he would not buy Ayanda Mabulu’s artwork depicting President Jacob Zuma in a compromising position because it did not speak to him.
