Reports also stated that Maleka was due to appear in court for cases that took place in the Johannesburg North area.

Mahlangu said Maleka’s funeral service will take place at the Marlboro Hall on 13 June.

“He was shot in a drive-by outside of Club Neh in Marlboro. Someone called him to come outside of the club and that’s when he was shot.”

Mahlangu said Maleka had just been released from prison when the incident occurred. He was apparently no longer living in Alexandra but lived in Norkem Park on the Eastrand.

“I’m not sure where the funeral will take place, it might be in Alex or in Kempton Park,” said Mahlangu.
