‘Rolex gang’ might be back in town – police

WARRANT Officers Moses Maphakela and Abby Ramohlola from the Bramley police suspect that the 'Rolex gang' might be back in action.

This is after the officers received a tip-off about four armed suspects in a white Audi in the Dunkeld and Hyde Park areas.

“The suspects use two fake number plates,” said Maphakela. He urged the community to look out for a white Audi with the number plates CM74TCGP and BD20WDGP. “These men are armed and dangerous,” said Maphakela.

“If you find that you are being followed by this car, do not stop. Drive to the nearest police station or contact the police. Make sure you do not go to your place of residence,” he said.

The ‘Rolex gang’ targets people wearing expensive jewellery, Rolex watches in particular. They follow them home from shopping malls and banks and rob them at gunpoint in their driveways.

An investigation is underway.
