Bryanston Explorers wish Sandton festive tidings
Explorers and friends in Bryanston wish Sandton a happy 2025.
The Explorers Friendship and Chat group in Bryanston has enjoyed another year of sharing insight, knowledge and wisdom with residents in the community through talks and presentations.
According to the group’s convenor, Shelley Addis the Explorers began learning through exploration together 13 years ago, when the group was first established as a platform to give community members the opportunity to meet like-minded friends once a month and enjoy a talk or demonstration, then share in a slap-up tea.

These monthly meetings are held in the garden and studio on Addis’ property.
Addis reflected on the year since hosting Al Watermeyer of the Zimbabwe ‘Old Legs’ Madala Legs in February who talked of the cycle tours arranged around Southern Africa to raise funds for destitute Zim farmers. The group also hosted Dr Cary Goodwin of Colourful Splendour Nursery in September, as well as an important meeting in November when DA MP for Water And Sanitation Dr Stephen Moore joined with members to discuss the current water situation in Gauteng and what it’s like to be in the GNU.
“The Explorers Friendship and Chat group fulfils a great need for people to get together, socialise and explore new ideas. We would like to wish all our members and Sandton Chronicle readers happy holidays, and share the promise of a wide variety of talks in 2025,” said Addis.
