Another Bryanston billboard slammed as dangerous

Bryanston’s Peter Place Road has a new outdoor ad that Ward 102 councillor Lucinda Harman calls a total no.

Yet another unauthorised billboard has popped up in Bryanston, and Ward 102 councillor Lucinda Harman says it’s not only illegal; it’s a hazard for motorists.

The new structure, located on Peter Place Road, stands right on the pavement at a bend in the road.

Drivers heading towards the intersection now face a large advertisement panel that partially blocks their line of sight, especially when turning or merging.

Harman argues this creates an unnecessary blind spot, which could put both drivers and pedestrians at risk. “This is a total no. No wayleave, no city approval, and it’s blocking visibility. It should not be here.”

We have contacted Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) and the City of Johannesburg for comment on whether the installation has any official permission, and will update our readers once we receive their response.
