UPDATE: 5th Street in Wynberg saga coming to an end

After many months, the Wynberg infrastructure issue is being attended to.

After many months of an ongoing infrastructure crisis on Wynberg’s 5th Street, which left local businesses grappling with up to a 40% decline in monthly turnover, the companies can breathe a sigh of relief.

According to Ward 91 councillor, Andrew Stewart, on September 9, the tarring of 5th Street in Wynberg began.

“The 5th Street Wynberg saga is nearly at an end for business and residents. However, from a councillor’s perspective, the saga will continue until I receive a response to my written questions to the council enquiring about the total cost of the repair.”

He added that he had received tip-offs that final costs had ballooned for the job. “I will update you once I have received everything,” he told the publication.
