A season for rest, gratitude, and kindness in Ward 102

Ward 102 councillor Lucinda Harman calls on residents to embrace rest, kindness, and gratitude this festive season and to remember the quiet heroes working behind the scenes to keep Johannesburg afloat.

As the festive season has approached, Ward 102 councillor Lucinda Harman is calling on residents to pause, reflect, and show understanding, not only toward one another but also toward the public servants who work tirelessly to keep the city functioning.

“Being a resident in Johannesburg is no easy feat, yet we choose to live and work here. Councillors, especially those in the DA, form the thin blue line that helps keep our wards from full collapse. We are constantly under pressure to meet community needs with limited resources, and this can take a toll.”

Harman’s Christmas wish is simple yet heartfelt: that residents and councillors alike find rest and restoration during this time.

“Let’s remember the Christmas message of goodwill and kindness, to extend grace to everyone we meet. Amid the challenges, there is still hope if every resident remains engaged, votes wisely, and embraces the gift of gratitude. Gratitude will see us through to better days.”

In closing, Harman wishes Johannesburg’s residents a peaceful and joy-filled festive season.

“I wish you rest, the warmth of family and friends, and the precious gift of life. May you live each day with the same wonder that children see the world. Merry Christmas to you and your family.”
