Sandton launches festive toy drive to bring joy to children this Christmas
Locals are encouraged to donate toys for children to make a difference in their Christmas.
Sandton residents are being encouraged to rally behind a community toy drive aimed at bringing some warmth and wonder to children who may face a quieter festive season.
The initiative, run by the Sandton Community Police Forum in partnership with the Hope SA Foundation, is calling for new and gently pre-loved toys for children of all ages.

The idea is simple: to pass along a toy your child no longer plays with or pick up something new, and help create a Christmas moment for someone who might otherwise go without.
A small gesture can go further than people think, especially at this time of year.
Donations can be dropped off at four locations across Sandton: Chilli Lane outside Pick n Pay, Woodmead outside Dis-Chem, Benmore Centre at Entrance 3, and the Sandton Police Station.
The cut-off date for contributions is December 14.

Organisers are encouraging households, estates, and local businesses to get involved and spread the word. For them, the drive is not just about toys but about reminding children that their community sees them and cares.
Anyone able to contribute is invited to help make this year a little brighter for a child in need.
