A routine crime-prevention patrol in Edenburg led to a significant arrest after Sandton SAPS officers stopped a suspicious vehicle and uncovered illegal items inside.

According to the statement, the incident took place on December 12, at around 13:30, when officers noticed the vehicle behaving suspiciously.

They conducted a stop and search, during which illegal drugs and an unlicensed firearm were discovered. The suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody at the Sandton Police Station.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.

The Sandton Community Policing Forum (CPF) welcomed the arrest, praising the police for their vigilance and ongoing commitment to tackling crime in the area.
