St David’s Marist Inanda Class of 2025 earns its stripes with exceptional matric results

A 100% pass rate, a 100% Bachelor’s Degree pass, and standout academic achievements mark a proud moment for St David’s Marist Inanda as its Class of 2025 prepares for life beyond school.

The matric Class of 2025 at St David’s Marist Inanda has delivered outstanding results, reinforcing the school’s reputation for academic excellence and holistic education.

The class of 127 boys achieved a 100% pass rate, with every learner securing a Bachelor’s Degree pass, qualifying them for university entrance.

These achievements carry particular significance given the challenges this group faced early in their high school careers.

The Class of 2025 began Grade 8 during the Covid-19 pandemic, spending nearly 18 months in online or hybrid learning. Despite these disruptions, the boys emerged resilient, focused, and committed, benefiting from the dedication of staff who ensured continuity and quality education during uncertain times.

Beyond academics, the class distinguished itself through strong participation in sport, culture, leadership, and service.

Their willingness to support one another, both during lockdown and after returning to campus, became a defining feature of the class.

Executive headmaster Mike Thiel praised the group’s collective strength and character.

He noted that the rare achievement of a 100% Bachelor’s Degree pass reflects not only academic ability but also maturity, quiet leadership, and genuine care for others, qualities rooted in Marist values.

Academic excellence was further reflected in the school’s distinction statistics. One learner achieved nine distinctions, while seven earned eight distinctions.

A further 10 boys achieved seven distinctions and 11 achieved six. In total, 19 top 1% results were recorded across 10 subjects.

Six learners were recognised by the IEB as outstanding or commendable achievers.

Strong averages were also recorded, with eight boys achieving overall averages above 90%, 27 above 80%, and 46 above 70%. Several subjects recorded distinction rates above 50%, including mathematics, life sciences, information technology, and visual arts.

The school extended its gratitude to parents and guardians for their unwavering support, and to teachers and staff for their commitment.

While celebrating top achievers, St David’s also honoured the individual journeys of every learner, marking the Class of 2025 as a group that truly earned its stripes
