Local learners dive into competition

Cameron, Barrett, and Ladson went stroke for stroke in a high-energy swimming showdown.

Crawford International Sandton’s swimming pool came alive with colour, cheers, and competitive spirit during the school’s Inter-House Gala, held on January 23.

Learners representing the Cameron, Barrett, and Ladson houses went head-to-head in a full day of swimming events that tested speed, endurance, and teamwork.

From early morning heats to the final relays, the gala showcased strong participation across age groups, with house supporters lining the poolside to rally their teams on.

The annual event forms a key part of the school’s sporting calendar, encouraging healthy competition while fostering school spirit and camaraderie among learners.

Swimmers competed in a range of individual and relay races, earning points for their houses with every finish.

Teachers and staff members were on hand to officiate and support the athletes, while learners not competing added to the festive atmosphere with coordinated chants and house colours.

The energy around the pool reflected the intensity of the rivalry, with narrow finishes keeping spectators engaged throughout the day.
