Crawford Sandton learners pack soup jars for Mandela Day
Smiles, teamwork, and giving filled the grounds as Crawford Sandton’s youngest learners prepared soup jars to support those in need this Mandela Day.
Tiny hands came together in a big way at Crawford International Sandton Pre-Primary, as learners took part in a heartwarming Mandela Day initiative by packing soup jars that will be donated to those in need.
The activity transformed the classroom into a space of excitement, teamwork, and generosity as children carefully prepared the jars while learning about the importance of helping others.

Teacher Bianca Fleishman said the experience went beyond creating donations, becoming an opportunity to teach children meaningful values from a young age.
“It is so lovely to see children enjoying themselves and also learning more about giving.”
She added that the initiative forms part of the school’s Mandela Day activities, encouraging learners to understand that even small acts of kindness can make a difference in the lives of others.
