Sandton’s youngest karatekas steal the show at Warriors Cup 2026
Fearless four-year-old competitors took to the tatami, as the Warriors Cup 2026 delivered a day of courage, skill, sportsmanship, and unforgettable karate action.
The Rivonia Village came alive on August 1, as karate athletes from as young as four-year-old gathered for the Warriors Cup 2026.
The friendly tournament brought together karate athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters for a memorable day of competition that celebrated the values of the martial art.

The event opened with the four to five-year-old division, where the youngest competitors captivated the crowd with their fearless performances and unwavering determination, earning loud cheers and applause from families and spectators.
Tournament organiser sensei Michelle Singh said, as the competition progressed, athletes of all ages showcased impressive technique, discipline, and respect.

“Even though the day delivered fierce contests, the tournament remained true to its motto of friendship, with competitors displaying outstanding sportsmanship, both on and off the tatami.”
Despite karate being a full-contact sport, the tournament was conducted safely and professionally, with no major injuries reported.

The dedicated medical team remained on standby throughout the day, providing prompt attention whenever required and ensuring the well-being of every athlete.

Singh expressed gratitude to every athlete, coach, referee, official, volunteer, parent, sponsor, and spectator who made the tournament a success.
