Kempton Park women urged to stay safe after 4 bodies discovered
Police have urged women in Kempton Park to avoid walking alone following the discovery of four bodies in the area over the past two months.
The SAPS is intensifying investigations following the discovery of the bodies of four women in Kempton Park over approximately two months.
The latest body was found on Saturday evening. Preliminary information indicates concerning similarities in the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The bodies were found half-naked with visible bruising, and the discovery sites are within the same vicinity.

While investigations continue and police have not confirmed that the deaths are linked to a serial killer, the similarities are sufficiently concerning for the police to issue a public warning. Women in and around Kempton Park are urged not to walk or run alone, particularly in isolated areas. They should avoid secluded spaces, remain vigilant, and, where possible, travel or exercise in groups.
The safety of women remains a priority and police will not wait for further incidents before taking decisive action.
The acting national commissioner, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, has directed the Gauteng provincial commissioner to immediately establish a dedicated multidisciplinary task team to investigate the cases and determine whether there are links between the incidents.

The task team will include detectives from the murder and robbery unit and the investigative psychology unit, as well as other relevant disciplines. It will be led by the Gauteng deputy provincial commissioner, Major General Mbuso Khumalo, who has been tasked with ensuring all investigative avenues are pursued.
The SAPS is appealing to anyone with information that could assist the investigation – particularly residents, motorists, security personnel, and community members who may have observed suspicious activity in Rhodesfield and surrounding areas – to come forward.
The police are taking the incidents extremely seriously and have mobilised specialised resources to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths and bring those responsible to justice.
