Fun factory celebrates Madiba’s birthday
SANDTON - With Mandela Day celebrations around the world in full swing, the Discovery Fun Factory Nursery School also contributed its 67 minutes of community service.

It welcomed the young pupils of Vuleka School, who mingled with their Discovery counterparts in a relationship that has blossomed over the years.
Principal of Discovery, Gilly Holland said the school had always supported Vuleka schools around Gauteng with various initiatives as a continuation of the goodwill between both schools.
“We always invite them to events here in Sandton, or assist them with facility improvement at their schools, among other things,” said Holland.
“We are also in the process of donating books to them bought by the parents of children at Discovery, which we hope will continue driving the importance of education as a tangible, long-lasting impact of doing good as Mandela Day principle holds.”
Pick n Pay Benmore contributed food parcels and stationery, and its customer service manager Brenda Johnson said it was the company’s philosophy to always look to plough back into the community.
“We might be doing our bit for 67 minutes, but every second, minute, hour and day is an opportunity to contribute good to our society. We thank our customers for the continued support, and want them to know that a lot of the money they spend at our stores goes towards uplifting the circumstances of those less fortunate,” added Johnson.
