Two motorists shot at on Grayston Drive
SANDTON - Motorists are urged to take caution after two motorists were shot at on Grayston Drive on 5 August.
According to Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson of the Sandton police, the two incidents took place about five minutes apart from each other.
“The first incident took place just after 3pm as the victim was about to off-ramp off Grayston Drive, when two men wearing balaclavas approached his car,” she said.
One of the men fired a shot at the driver’s window, at which point the victim accelerated and drove off. No injuries were reported according to Cloete and a case of attempted murder was opened at the police station.
In the second incident, a victim was approached by four men on Grayston Drive and had his passenger door shot at.
“The men took the victim’s car keys and a case before making off,” she said.
Cloete said a case of attempted hijacking was opened and the police were still investigating both incidents.
