1. In one sentence, who are you?
I served as the deputy assistant director of building development management for the City of Johannesburg and retired two years ago after a long career in public service. For the past five years, I have been an active member of the Democratic Alliance, committed to improving governance and service delivery.

2. What are the biggest issues facing your ward currently?
Ward 91 faces serious challenges, particularly ageing and failing water infrastructure, persistent electrical outages impacting Athol Inanda and Bramley Park, as well as the continued erection of illegal structures in the Sandspruit riverine area. These issues affect the quality of life, safety, and future development of our communities.

3. What practical solutions would you prioritise should you be named councillor of your ward?
As your representative, I will actively engage with residents, community organisations, and the business associations of Kramerville and Wynberg. I believe in regular communication, transparency, and ensuring that residents receive meaningful feedback on issues affecting their neighbourhoods.

4. What is one misconception about you or your party that you would clarify?
Turning Johannesburg around will not happen overnight. Decades of infrastructure neglect and poor management cannot be fixed with a quick solution. However, with competent leadership, accountability, and strong partnerships between residents, businesses, and government, we can make steady and lasting progress.

5. Should your party’s candidate be named mayor, in your opinion, what issue/issues should they address first?
My focus for Ward 91 is built on five key commitments: Reliable water and electricity through improved maintenance, infrastructure protection, and investment; better roads and traffic management, including pothole repairs, functioning traffic lights, and safer streets; economic growth and job creation by supporting local businesses and encouraging investment; safer communities through stronger action against cable theft, illegal activities, and infrastructure vandalism; and a professional and responsive local government that listens to residents, delivers services efficiently, and uses technology to improve accountability.
Ward 91 deserves a councillor who understands how the city works, listens to residents, and is committed to practical solutions. Together, we can build a safer, cleaner, and more prosperous future for Wynberg, Sandringham, Kramerville, and Illovo. Vote DA. Together, let’s get Johannesburg working again.
