The Explorers Interest and Friendship Group is a non-profit organisation which was founded in April 2015 and focuses on building the community. On the third Friday of every month, the group gathers for motivational talks to enrich the community.

“Generally older people are at a stage in life where they are losing friends, either to those leaving the area to follow children or passing on,” said Shelley Addis of the group.

“Friends left behind look to fill the gap and hence a group like the Explorers gives them an opportunity to make new like-minded friends.”
