The Saints Sports Festival 2018 kicked off with the opening matches of soccer, squash and tennis matches on 28 March.
Schools from across the country descended on the St Stithians sports fields and courts eager to get the events started.

On the school’s Ridgeway Field, fellow scholars and parents cheered as Saints football team took on Alexandra Secondary School.
Saints dominated the first match running out 5–1 victors.

On the tennis courts, Saints number one and two players, Justin Liebenberg and Kyle Johnson respectively, kicked off the proceedings against Pretoria Boys High School.
The Saints duo will face players of St David’s Marist Inanda, Clifton School, Grey College and St Benedicts in the coming days.

Saint Stithians Boys’ College headmaster David du Toit said, “The [tennis] players will compete for the Kevin Anderson Trophy… Kevin is an old boy of the college and the trophy was presented by him to encourage and inspire excellence in this popular sport.”

The festival promises a long weekend of action-packed sports and will conclude on 2 April.
