The Johannesburg Roads Agency welcomes new board appointments

JOBURG - JRA welcomes all Board members.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) welcomed its new board members who were introduced by the Executive Mayor, Councillor Herman Mashaba and Member of the Mayoral Committee for Transport, Councillor Nonhlanhla Makhuba at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which took place on 13 June at Johannesburg Theatre.

Sipho Tshabalala continues his role as chairperson into a new term. In leading the Board, Tshabalala will be supported by the following non-executive members; Thobile Magerman, Steven Thunzi and Albert Torres have been reappointed as board members. Newly appointed non-executive members are Xolisa Mnyani, Thabiso Kutumela, Albert Mokoena and Lloyd Mayedwa. In addition, two Executive Directors have been appointed, that is Goodwill Mbatha: Acting Managing Director and Ron Stevenson: Acting Chief Financial Officer.

Tshabalala is an entrepreneur with a passion for youth development and tourism. He is recognised for his contribution to the development of youth through arts, sports and culture in Africa. He is locally known for his vibrant and thriving restaurant, Vilakazi in Soweto. Amongst other roles, Tshabalala serves as the Chairperson of the Youth Charter for Sports (Africa), Chairperson of Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, South West Region and a committee member of the Johannesburg Tourism Stakeholder Committee.
