No load shedding for today, but the risk remains high

JOBURG – Eskom encourages residents to use electricity sparingly.

Eskom announced that there would be no load shedding for today ( 10 December) although the risk of load shedding remains high.

Residents across Johannesburg have been warned of potential blackouts as Eskom is preparing to conserve and build reserves for this week. According to Eskom load shedding is rotated nationally to protect the system from a total collapse or a blackout.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to use electricity sparingly and switch off all geysers and non-essential lights and electrical appliances to conserve energy during this period.

More updates will be posted as they become available.
