Sandton School Group discusses 2021 highlights and plans for 2022
SANDTON – The presence of the vaccination allowed the school to fully operate without the worry of cancelling planned events while keeping a strict Covid-19 policy in their school in hopes to reduce the spreading of the pandemic
Sandton School Group was more than happy to realise that 2021 was not a sequel to the previous year. The school mentioned a few of their highlights that ranged from the hosting of the long-awaited swimming gala to having a successful outreach programme.
The group takes pride in its learners, staff members and events. The presence of the vaccination allowed the school to fully operate without the worry of cancelling planned events while keeping a strict Covid-19 policy in their school in hopes to reduce the spreading of the pandemic.

Sandton School Group was excited to host its swimming gala in October. The event gave Grade R and Grade 1 learners the platform to showcase their skills to their teachers and parents.
Another annual event that the school welcomed back was the matric dance. All learners who attended their matric dance were dressed to the nines.
The last shared highlight of the year was the active participation with their outreach programme. Learners and staff members assisted by donating food parcels, blankets and toiletry bags to the less fortunate.
What 2022 will bring:
- Sandton School Group looks forward to welcoming new additions to the Grade R and Grade 1 family who will start their new journey with the school.
- The newly developed science lab will be ready for the learners.
- The robotics programme for the foundation phase will be introduced next year.
- A digital library where all library books are loaded on e-readers allows the learners to visit the library and use the e-readers to read their books at any given time without the worry of availability.
- Playground areas are designed to help with the development of the juniors.
- Music and art studio for high school section.

“Right at the beginning of this school year, we knew that things will be different, and we were able to prepare ourselves to have a year that would be anything but boring! Looking back on this year, I believe each learner, parent and teacher should be extremely proud of the resilience, patience and commitment showed and the time has almost arrived for a well-deserved rest,” concluded the head of academics, Peet Cronjé.
The school extends its gratitude to all the parents, learners and teachers for their determination and perseverance.
