Gold medal-winning performance for Crawford learner

BENMORE GARDENS – The young talented musician has been playing the piano since the age of seven.

Crawford International Sandton performer Chi-Chi Juan gave a gold medal-winning performance at the recent National Eisteddfod Competition (NEC).

Previously selected as a finalist in both categories, the young pianist took home the gold medal as the overall winner for the contemporary and classical music categories for all age groups for the NEC’s Young Performers Award.

“The final round was held at Roodepoort Theatre on Saturday (8 May) and there were 28 finalists for all different categories, such as piano, drama, dance, drum, violin, singing, marimba and more,” said father Ryan Juan.

The young talented musician has been playing the piano since the age of seven.

Today she is a talented and versatile musician who has been trained in classical, contemporary and modern piano.
