Stellar rowing by Saints at champs

LYME PARK – The girls’ college finished the weekend off with eight medals while the boys’ college finished with nine medals.

The rowers of St Stithians Boys and Girls College gave it their all in the recent Gauteng Schools and Junior Championships.

The three-day tournament, which kicked off on November 5, saw dozens of the province’s best rowers take to Victoria Lake in Germiston to battle it out.

According to the school on social media, in the end, the Saints rowers fought hard, many earning podium and top 10 finishes.

“[It was] an amazing return to racing by both our girls and boys rowers this weekend at the Gauteng Rowing Championships,” the post read.

The girls’ college concluded the championship weekend with a total of two bronze, four silver and two gold medals.

In addition, the boys’ college finished with one bronze, seven silver and one gold medal.
