Ayanda MVP donates netball gear and cheque to Realogile Secondary School

Local radio presenter Ayanda MVP aims at creating a better world for young girls through her netball tournaments

Netball fanatic, DJ and local radio presenter Ayanda Mdluli, better known by her stage name, ‘Ayanda MVP’, recently donated money and a few netball training items to a school situated in Alexandra, Realogile Secondary School.

The radio presenter, who is based in Morningside, started her fundraising campaign, MVP Netball Challenge last year [2021] on June 16 at the Sandton Action Sports. The initiative focuses on creating awareness on netball in South Africa by hosting numerous tournaments for young girls from all over the country.

“Netball has become an escape for many young girls who go through daily adversities. The discipline, focus and hard work isn’t just used on the court but in everyday life. For some it’s a fun after-school activity and for others it’s a great way to make new friends. It brings out purpose and action overall,” said the radio presenter.

She described the feeling when visiting Realogile Secondary School on April 21 to hand over the donations, “It was very humbling and beautiful to put smiles on the learners’ faces. I even managed to play for a bit with them and the new balls they were given. I can’t wait to help another school in need that is passionate about netball.”

Ayanda MVP donated R 10 000 and a few netball items to the school. Donations were successful through internal and external contributions which the campaign collected. One of the companies that assisted Ayanda MVP reaching her target was Forwardzone.
