Local school provides food and warmth to those in need with pyjama day.
Bryanston school, Michael Mount hosted a pyjama day with the target of donating essential goods to the individuals affected by the KwaZulu-Natal flood.
Michael Mount Waldorf School organised its big pyjama day on May 6 with the main mission of collecting donations.
The Bryanston-based school collected items for those who were greatly affected by the KwaZulu-Natal flood disaster.
With the learners of Grade 10 following their curriculum of community-based activities, the collection campaign was run by learners and teachers of Michael Mount.
The school collected a large number of essential goods such as food, diapers and clothes. The goods will be distributed to those affected by the floods in KwaZulu-Natal by Gift of the Givers Foundation.

Director of marketing and communications Christina Seuffert said, “It was truly a festive morning. Everyone arrived at the school in their pyjamas, sharing a cup of hot chocolate, and listening to the wonderful sounds of our Grade 11s playing the marimbas.”
Grade 10 guardian teacher Antoinette Offerman added, “A big thank you to our staff, parents, and children for all your enthusiasm and contributions – the generosity was moving! Thank you to our teachers and Grade 10s who arranged the day, and to our marimba group for the perfect musical welcome.”
